Assistant Manager
The Assistant Manager works within the 24-Hour Residential Program and is responsible for ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents. This position assumes a leadership role for residents by promoting and assuring that medical and other concerns are addressed in a timely manner. The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with coordination of staff, implementation of client programs, and the operation of the site. The Assistant Manager also acts as a liaison between the Direct Support Professional and the Program Manager.
Educational Requirements:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Experience and Training:
• One year experience working in a residential setting with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Good communication skills, including writing, reading, and interpreting text
• Capable of being a good role model in a variety of settings
• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Calm disposition and able to handle emergencies appropriately
• Capable of performing duties responsibly and independently
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Capable of anticipating psychological and/or behavioral issues of clients and address them in a proactive manner.
Other Requirements:
• 18+ years of age
• Valid Oregon Driver's License and be insurable by agency carrier
• Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and Oregon Intervention Systems (OIS) helpful but will be provided by employer
• Must pass criminal history background check.
